Pros

flexible time off when requested, although expect to work weekends some co workers were cool good bonus for full time if your store director isnt an idiot

Cons

where do i begin... it seems as if they protect those that will never leave the company because even if they suck at work or life in general hyvee wants longevity. management is often times incompetent and cares more about "drinking the koolaid" and kissing ass than they do about how hard you work. special benefits are given to those that cry and complain, not those who work hard and do a good job. long days, crap pay. recently took away sunday and holliday pay which was an extra dollar an hour more, even mc donalds offers holliday premium becoming more of a socialist company, not rewarding those who work harder than others with incentives.

Pros

I really enjoyed my coworkers and the management of the store. There were a handful of people who worked there at the time who weren't necessarily my favorite, but overall the team was good.

Cons

There we no significant cons. The pay is not the highest, but these are mainly entry level jobs.

Pros

Paid breaks. Can be lazy and get the same pay as a hard worker.

Cons

Your high efforts are not rewarded. Benefits only include the time you put into retail that can be considered experience. Although you have the title for a specific position you will still be forced to complete tasks of another position. Although I was a checker, I was also put on hot food line, samples, cart duty, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning spills, watching self check out, stocking, and many more. Any sense of enjoyment with other coworkers gets shut down quick by management. Availability can be ignored by management. Lots of drama with coworkers. No penalty for inappropriate and unprofessional work. Management cares about business more than employees even though it is “employee owned”.
