Pros
Very good level of work/life balance. Outside training sometimes difficult to get approved, but often open to motivated employees. Employees are given freedom to run and participate on almost all levels of engagements. High visibility available to junior level employees with c-suite level management clients.
Cons
Poor review process with results not taken into consideration for promotions/raises. Feedback difficult to receive from management and rarely given. Model of tracking utilization and performance does not reward or give credit for business development or training of others. Thus, a lot of the engagement work recycles dated material. Fair amount of 'dead weight' on engagement teams with a few 'heavy lifters' while others just push papers around.
