Pros

Many positions are work at home. You may be lucky and get a person as a manager and not just another “company man”.

Cons

A company that lies about how they value their employees, while taking away perks from the lower entry level positions. Removal of benefits or bonus incentives to provide better service for their members? You will note upper management does not receive any of these cuts. Shareholders and profits are the main goal. As with most health insurance companies they will pay out as little as possible to their members and workers. Large workloads to keep from hiring more associates? Of course. No raise because of reasons such as the company was not as profitable this year, even though emails on how the company is doing great contradict this? You bet! It’s a paycheck, but be sure when they ask for your honest feedback to keep your mouth shut. Also the diversity includes rainbow motifs for Pride month, but the in company social network will allow folks to say bigoted things and claim it’s religious freedom or free speech. Free speech would not apply but HR has no issue using that excuse when people are harassed for not being Christian or straight. Being a long term employee does not matter. If they can cut costs you will be cut. If they want a reason to terminate your employment they will spin and find one. You may be doing fine but new management will come inn, change the way things are run, and then miraculously you are just not producing the results Humana expects. This can be determined by management that have minimal understanding of your job position or the department itself. If you view it as just a paycheck, it may be fine. Just make sure you have everything set to find other employment.

Pros

Working from home, that’s about it.

Cons

Micromanaging, forced to help team members while you’re behind on your own caseload. Denied PTO requests, no PTO all summer and no PTO until the end of January 2027 (that’s supposed supposedly when they will be done ramping up with all their new employees.) a bunch of meetings weekly that are pointless. A weekly case conference where they are forcing nurses to present a complex case in front of over 300 people on zoom. Process changes change constantly, there are no job aid or guideline that help you make a Clinical decision but you will get out of it if you do it incorrectly. Save yourself the trouble and apply somewhere else. It is not worth it.
