Pros

I wanted to say that working at Medopad/Huma was the worst decision of my life, but that would be a lie. I learnt the following: 1. How never to run a business 2. Just because someone works in healthcare, does not mean that they care about patients (or their employees) 3. Stand up for myself against management when they lie 4. To not accept how I was spoken to by management as I was there, ever again

Cons

I continue to be shocked by how affected current and previous employees have been by the leadership team at Medopad/Huma. I believe this can be broken down into the following (but certainly not limiting) reasons: Bullying When you read the reviews, you will see there is a recurring theme around bullying. Leadership will belittle, berate and humiliate their employees without hesitation. Not because you have done anything wrong, but because they can. They want you to know they have the power and have made it clear you should be grateful to be in their presence. It is also really important to note that there is a disgusting attitude towards women. Management will ensure they are removed or significantly bullied and will be spoken to in a way that has notably made others around feel uncomfortable. Lack of knowledge Another recurring theme is around the lack of knowledge. There is very little to add - the management team does not understand healthcare and have no interest in learning about it. Dan will often tell you that he has spent days and nights sleeping on hospital floors in the cafeterias to prove his persistence. This does mean you understand healthcare, it means you don’t understand time management. If you do dare tell them how certain processes work, be prepared to be told that you are bad at your job and/or are lying. Also, trying to emulate Steve Jobs does not make you a genius. Far from it. Read the Theranos story to get the vibe at Medopad/Huma. Patients do not come first Money does. Sign contracts, deliver later. I genuinely joined the company ‘to make a difference’. If this is also your goal, do not join. There is no product, has never been a product and you will be asked to lie about it to customers. If you question this, be prepared for tantrums and backlash. This is a supposed ‘unicorn’ company who have had to change their name and brand despite their alleged success. Think about that.

They're a an unfunded, growing start up, they can't afford to pay top dollar yet, it seems.
