Pros
Co-workers are generally really nice people mainly because they're going through the same thing... Looking for a new job while dealing with the craziness!
Cons
Where do I begin... I was brought on as a contractor to cover for someone. Contractors are treated like underlings who can't participate in things like normal employees. They have to stay at their desks or leave the building while everyone else is at a party or at some other work related event. When I was introduced to the CEO during a meeting, he couldn't make the effort to even acknowledge me. By the way, this meeting was an hour late because of the CEO... He apparently does this always to people. They see no value in digital or web initiatives. I have worked at companies like this before and they have either gone out of business or were bought out. You feel exhausted while working there. Everyone expects you to go above and beyond for the company. I just don't feel that it's worth it. Employee morale is low in several departments. Some meetings we ended up talking about what we needed to and if there was time, people would complain about so many things they were unhappy about. When I put in my notice, everyone came out of the woodwork to congratulate me, say they were going to miss me and say I'm doing the right thing by leaving... Sad. Also, if you're too nerdy or awkward HR will not push you forward in the interviewing process. Don't trust HR at all.
