Pros
Opportunities to work various positions. Friendly co-workers. Good systems in place (serving drinks and food on trays, total team service). Scholarships opportunities.
Cons
Will schedule and promote you purely based on if they like you. Does not schedule you for weeks, but will not fire you either to avoid company layoffs. I put a lot into this company, learning and working various positions, but despite my known competency was not scheduled due to not being favored by management. Lack of transparency regarding scheduling conflicts yet very apparent favoritism. Focuses too much on sales and had weird company culture quoting “whale done” often, which is a book about training whales with positive reinforcement. Has “talking straight” as one of their values, but I have sees fellow co-workers fired for voicing their displeasures with the company and management. Hires too many people for training, then will fire half of them when restaurant slows down. Promises full-time, but the most hours you get is 20 if they favor you, otherwise expect to work 3 or 0 hours.
