Pros
Set own hours, that's it
Cons
I routinely received phone calls at 6–7 AM for same-day call-outs (thankfully I keep my phone on Do Not Disturb), but the bigger issue is that the company repeatedly contacted me through their app to pick up shifts while I was officially placed on medical restrictions. This is a serious safety and compliance problem. Offering work to caregivers who are medically restricted violates basic labor protections, exposes employees to injury, and puts the company at risk for OSHA and Department of Labor action. If someone accepted a shift under those conditions and got hurt, it would trigger workers’ compensation and significant fines. This wasn’t a one-time error — it happened multiple times — and it shows a troubling lack of internal oversight.
