Pros
Generally amazing co-workers, fulfilling work caring for the dogs, and relatively safe environment given the work with good work delegation.
Cons
Management has significant personal biases towards employees, issuing out discipline and terminating employees that discuss their pay, unions, or refusing to follow unnecessary or unsafe orders. Essentially only keeping people out of necessity or if they are submissive and willing to take their abuse. No consistency in training, reviews, and discipline. overwhelming "confidentiality" and "privacy" concerns lead to it being easy for management to lie to owners and employees about reasons for terminating other employees. Highly suspect some members of management may be bigoted towards lgbtq+ individuals, which affects their employment practices; though some other lgbtq+ employees have not had issues. INCREDIBLY unfair pay practices, discussing pay with multiple other employees revealed quickly huge payment inconsistencies. Experienced animal care experts were paid less than newly hired staff, admin makes significantly more money than people doing the hard work, no raises or opportunity for advancement at all.
