Pros

The company is lean and growing! Everyone is remote or can travel with certain positions. If you are coming in with an area of expertise, you are going to thrive. Consulting companies are not meant to be training grounds or learning opportunities. The company moves fast on most decisions because they are a flat organization. You are always 1 call away from the President. Flexible time off allows to relax and refresh your battery. It's an employee-owned organization so everything we do to help the company grow goes into our pocket. We get to work with some of the highest-level positions in large banks, insurance companies and investment firms. You get to see the insides of what a consulting company looks like, and it can really add education and experience to your abilities.

Cons

Small consulting organizations do not operate like larger companies. It's something you have to want to do and an area you want to work in. Small companies have growing to do like any organization and require self-starters and people motivated to help the company grow. The company operates lean, which can be good and bad. Good if you want to make money and grow the company out since it is employee owned, Not so great if you like company game rooms and a coffee break room with lots of snacks.

Pros

Remote work is a pro, unless your client has everyone else in-office. Then you can feel like an outsider at times. I received every paycheck I was owed and had the benefits I was told I would.

Cons

From the end of the interview process, I was concerned I would show up for work and there wouldn't even be a position. They pretended they didn't even know what an offer letter was! The "management" gives off vibes like the entire thing is a scam. It turns out, I was able to do good work for my client! Once the contract ended, I was fired, despite all the language about finding another role, etc. It's literally staff augmentation with bizarre communications from management.
