Pros

There is nothing positive about the company to highlight.

Cons

TLDR: Toxic culture, poor leadership, high turnover, weak accountability, lack of diversity, financial instability, unpaid bonuses for years, and serious ethical concerns. This was one of the most dysfunctional and toxic work environments I’ve encountered in my long career. The shift in culture when the new CEO began a few years ago was a quick downward spiral. Psychological safety was nonexistent, making it difficult to speak openly, ask questions, or do meaningful work. Leadership sent constant mixed messages, expectations shifted without warning, and projects were routinely started and abandoned due to poor planning and lack of resources. Personal boundaries were ignored. Employees were regularly pressured to work nights and weekends as if it were standard practice and called lazy if they refused. The culture is toxic, people turn on each other quickly, creating survival of the fittest environment rather than a collaborative one. Passive aggressive communication and outright rudeness are tolerated. Leadership lacks both strategic direction and basic competence. My manager frequently redirected me to others because they did not have answers themselves. This stalled my growth and clearly contributed to the extremely high turnover at the company. There is a severe lack of diversity in leadership. When diverse employees leave, they are often replaced by non-diverse hires, reinforcing the same homogeneous power structure. Those who are white or white passing are the only ones who will be considered long-term assets to the company. Nepotism is common: managers hire friends, pay them more than existing staff, and attempt to hide these relationships despite openly socializing together on social media as if we can’t see it. Pay is not competitive. The company appears to be struggling financially, which likely explains why bonuses have not been paid out in over a decade. Beyond internal dysfunction, I became deeply concerned about the company’s external business practices. Publicly available information shows underwriting relationships tied to fossil fuel extraction, invasive surveillance technology, and political organizations that have shown uncritical support for the ongoing genocide in Gaza. These include connections to coal extraction, electronic monitoring regimes that disproportionately impact marginalized groups, and pro-Israel lobbying organizations. If you have made it this far in your research, then you can easily find this information online as well since it is public. Knowing my labor supported these activities was unacceptable and fundamentally misaligned with my values. This was a major factor in why I left.
