Lack of support from upper management, disorganized SOPs, favoritism (promotions or accolades are based on who likes you, not your work ethic or performance), if you show you are capable, you take on a majority of the workload while slackers get to slack more, salaried employees hold hourlies to standards they themselves cannot meet, if you show you're willing to do what it takes to advance, you will be worked to the bone and taken advantage of; promises promotions can be lorded over you, hired friends, family members are often given special treatment or more pay over employees who have had to earn it and prove themselves.
