Missing the team - Anonymous employee Hexis Cyber Solutions Employee Review

It's a perfect storm for Hexis: incredible talent, unique company DNA in cyber security, right market timing with more and more data breaches and state-sponsored attacks happening. The opportunity is incredible, the core products address the future of cyber security, and the team "gets it" to deliver to our customers.

This is a fast-paced environment. Tons to do to build a foundation for the scale that we're seeing in the market. Experienced managers know when and how much to apply process at the right time to scale.

Pretty hands off work environment, a fair amount of freedom to set hours. Remote work is allowed to a greater level than I have ever seen. Free snacks, food, drinks. Caves/commons work environment. Salaries seem to be decent. Benefits are good. People are pretty nice and professional. No real sticks-in-the-mud. Very talented people for the most part. All in all it is a decent place.

Engineering staff is not valued. Example: the company executives with posh offices in the parent company building moved us off to a rehabbed office park... but they stayed behind in the nice digs. Sales team over-promised customers and failed to deliver - but engineering took the blame. Recent "pep" talk went as follows: "Don't expect any thanks for your work as long as the product is working, only expect feedback if the product is not working." (That really happened!) Incentives that were promised have not appeared - honestly it looks like the incentive program was designed with unrealistic goals so that it would never go into effect - there is some real heartburn in the ranks over this. Funny thing is had the promises not been made nobody would be upset. Also management method of dealing with the nonexistent bonuses and raises is to simply not say anything and hope nobody notices. We do.
