Pros
Hellosaurus is an incredibly special place to work, and my favorite thing about working here is the people. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to work with and learn from such an unbelievably talented, humble, and empathetic group of individuals.
Because we have such talented, low-ego humans, it's easy to take a lot of ownership over our work. Teammates are trusted to lead projects and provided with support if things go awry. Everyone takes turns demonstrating emergent leadership in different areas, shining where they're the brightest and providing room for others to shine too.
Also incredibly rewarding is seeing the impact of our product on kids and their loved ones. It's deeply motivating waking up each day knowing that we're responsible for putting smiles on kids' faces, while at the same time fostering their learning and growth in such a meaningful way.
We're building a product for kids to learn, grow, and have fun — and we like to learn, grow, and have fun doing it. I'm incredibly grateful for my time here so far, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store.
Cons
Hellosaurus is an early stage startup, and we're growing rapidly (but thoughtfully). This inevitably leads to some growing pains here and there. In particular, it's not always clear who owns certain areas, and a lot of our time is currently spent hiring and onboarding new teammates, making it difficult to find time for doing the work itself. I'm excited to have some new teammates join us soon and take ownership of some of these different areas!
