Pros
The pay was actually decent.
Cons
I honestly never provide these reviews, but this company did myself and others so wrong that I feel everyone should know what they’re getting into if they decided to work for them. If I were you, I would avoid Helion Group if at all possible. I took a job with Helion (Lousiville) and it was a terrible decision. Now I know, it being a contract company I probably should have expected some of the stuff that happened to me, happen. It all started out like it was going to be a good fit. The interview process was smooth and seemed legit. I made sure to ask certain questions like, “If my contract ends, or they just don’t need a contractor anymore, what is going to happen? How will I ensure I get paid?” To which I was told that I would be paid no matter what. They would either have another contract for me lined up, they would send me to do some schooling and I’d still get paid, or they would just figure out something for me to do. I asked this question a few times and was reassured every time that I would never have to worry. I also asked how PTO would work. I was told that I get 4 PTO days in the first 6 months as long as I gave them a heads up. Now this guy lied to me more than my Navy recruiter, which is saying a lot. First off the PTO, I had a Dr. appointment coming up so I gave a few weeks notice and was told everything would be fine. I verified the day before and then he tells me I don’t get any PTO at all till after 6 months so I could take the day off but I won’t be paid. As for the answers I was given before I took the job, this is how that played out. So, 3 months into my “6 month contract” the company decided they didn’t want us anymore because we didn’t want to hire on there. I let Helion know, 2 weeks before the last day, where I was told not to worry about anything they have something lined up and I’ll still be paid. That final Friday came and I contacted my “recruiter” on Sunday and asked where I would be going and he told me I was still going to be going to the same job. I woke up Monday morning and drove the hour to work. Right as I was pulling in, he calls me and says the company just won’t need me today so I could have the day off. Told me he would get back to me about being paid for it. This went on for 3 weeks where I was constantly told they were working on something and everything should be finalized this week or next. Literally same answer every time. Well, guess what?! I was never paid for any of it. They just drug me along. It’s been 6 weeks now, I’ve already found and started a new and better job. Yet, the company has yet to reach out to me at all. After about 3 weeks, they just stopped bothering to even call to lie to me. There was plenty more terrible things that make this company one you want to avoid. In closing, if I could give you any advice, it would be to steer far away from Helion Group if at all possible. And if you can’t, and absolutely want to go there, I would avoid talking with the same person I did.
