Pros

There are some really great people doing their best to make things better.

Cons

If you are thinking about working here, please do some research. Do a simple search for the names on the leadership page and see if any documentaries come up. You might find some interesting similarities for how this company is run. There is a CEO and a “CEO”, neither of which have ever done this before. Who’s really in charge? Layoffs are used as a normal strategy (3x in 18 months). After closing the SF and Austin offices (and still paying for them), the new plan is to open an office in NYC, so if you don’t live there, the clock is ticking. Also, ask about the customer retention rate. Ask about why they keep selling to customers they know won’t use the product and will not renew. Honestly, if you are considering taking a job here, be careful. With barely any leadership team and almost no engineering team, the battle between the CEOs and the terrible customer usage, this is a company with limited time. And if you currently work at Hearth, I would recommend starting to look elsewhere.

Pros

The leaders are transparent and down to earth. It is a real team atmosphere. It is a grind of course, but if you love the grind here it will love you back. The coaching and management team are all really good people genuinely interested in you and your success. If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding place, this will feel like home

Cons

Sometimes it can be hard for people to initially push themselves to the gear needed to start winning because it is a grind.

We truly appreciate your perspective on "the grind." You’re right - reaching that next gear takes a lot of grit, and we are committed to supporting our team members as they push themselves to achieve that success.

Pros

- decent ramp time for new employees - good if you're in between jobs and need something in the meantime

Cons

- Management shows favoritism to certain team members. - Change fatigue is next level at this company. It's one thing to pivot, it's another to throw 10 things at a wall and see which one sticks. - Team members manipulate work to hit commission making it an unfair and toxic environment. - Managers do not listen to the team when a problem is presented. When the issue arises again, team members are blamed or gaslit. - There is a pattern with managers sharing personal information about employees. One manager shared details about an employee's personal situation at home. Not for any work related reason, but to complain and demean someone who was already in a difficult position. It was concerning and left me uncomfortable. - Managers protect each other at all turns especially the ones that keep bragging about being there 6 years. - Customers complain about being inundated with marketing, outreach, phone calls, voicemails, text messages from Hearth. Instead of listening, they set up more automated outreach emails and ignored our concerns.
