Thank you for your thoughts regarding our company. I am proud to be here as well! I agree with your comments, and agree that we try to make sure we maintain work/life balance.
I would like to say (not so much for you, as a current employee working here-- you already know this) for everyone reading this and deciding whether Health Catalyst would be a good fit for you or not. When we talk about work/life balance, this does not mean we all work 30 hour weeks and take Fridays off. Personally, I've never worked harder than I do here at Health Catalyst. We are a start up, and that brings with it a certain reality (fluid circumstances around client acquisition, hiring, raising money, etc.) that is no different than any other startup.
What I DO think we mean when we talk about work/life balance is that, in the FACE of that startup reality, we believe (and frankly expect) our team mates to value and prioritize those aspects of their lives that let them recharge, be happy, connect with others, enjoy their association with family and friends. We believe that, with flexibility, this is possible even within the environment of the start up reality. This requires great trust from management, and great self-accountability from team members. If you are a self starter who is smart, hardworking, and most of all, humble in your approach and outlook to life (this doesn't mean you are a wimp, it means you approach situations with an attitude of learning, a willingness to accept the opinions of others, confidence to share your own), then you will do well at Health Catalyst. Thanks again!
