Pros
After working in a hospital setting for 30 years, I am very excited to be using my clinical knowledge at Health Catalyst. I have been here about 6 weeks and my initial impressions are extremely positive. Here are some of the strengths I see:
- Leadership is very focused on the mission/vision of the company and they speak to it every month. I appreciate they realize new employees are constantly coming in, and it's important that they hear this message beyond orientation.
- I appreciate the remote work opportunity. This allows you to pull in great talent that you might otherwise lose if you had to relocate your family. In addition they include the remote workers in the company activities. (Movie nights, etc.) so you truly feel part of the team while working remote.
- Healthcare is broken, but Health Catalyst realizes that and is working to create tools to help clinicians focus on their opportunities, rather than spending all your time trying to collect data...and in many cases there aren't enough resources, so you never move past the data collection phase.
- Transparency - this is lacking in so many companies, but I have appreciated the monthly team meetings where status, goals, etc, are shared with the team.
Cons
Really no cons. This is my first remote work position, so am getting used to lots of Zoom calls.
