Pros

Very hard to think of any right now- however its people are the biggest benefit, but no one cares about them right now!

Cons

It’s disheartening to see what Harvey Nash (HN) has become. Once an elite, highly respected brand in the recruitment space, HN is now falling behind competitors, and leadership at every level seems either oblivious or indifferent to the decline. The board and UK MD lack any clear vision, and instead of investing in the business, they appear preoccupied with short-term targets driven by private equity ownership. It's as if the only focus is to squeeze more out of the business rather than build something sustainable and future-proof. HN conducts their “Hive” surveys under the guise of caring about employee opinions, but nothing meaningful ever comes from them. It feels like a box-ticking exercise to pretend they’re listening, when in reality, it’s just another layer of smoke and mirrors. High-performing teams and individuals receive little to no recognition for their efforts. Instead of rewarding success, the company rolls out new incentive schemes that reduce earning potential. Commissions and bonuses have been cut, leaving employees to earn less money while those at the top claw back losses caused by poor strategic decisions. Morale is understandably low, and yet leadership seems blind to the growing frustration. The lack of investment in tools, resources, and long-term strategies is alarming. HN was once a market leader with an elite reputation, but now it feels like we’re running on fumes while competitors surge ahead. The business is reactive, not proactive, and this complacency has trickled down from the top. The frustration comes not just from witnessing the decline but from the fact that it could be fixed with the right leadership and vision. Unfortunately, there’s no sign of either.
