Pros

I moved to SF to work at Handshake and have met some amazing leaders who have helped me with my own personal and professional development. I appreciate the transparency and the vulnerability of the CEO, Garrett. Sales leaders in my org are always willing to help me grow and come from amazing backgrounds to help reps succeed. Being on multiple sales teams here at Handshake has been really rewarding. Handshake is a place where you can get out what you put in. The growth has been incredible and fun to watch and it doesn't seem like were slowing down anytime soon. Its not often you can say that you are impacting the world for better through a sales job but I can say that here. On the sales team we get the opportunity to transform how companies recruit entry level talent. Its amazing to see the new opportunities we create for students around the country.

Cons

This is a fast moving company. There's lots to learn from the product, team dynamics, and recruiting as a whole. If you don't take the time to educate yourself on these topics you will feel overwhelmed. If you don't take time to reflect each week things will feel like they get away from you. The company has doubled in size this year so getting to know people has been a little more challenging than in the past so you have to make an effort to connect.

Pros

Real pay, many jobs, Slack for additional support, and flexible schedule geared towards Eastern time.

Cons

Schedule flexiblity still requires you to accept jobs in batches, without a definitive release date for each batch, and if you do not accept enough tasks in the timeframe you will be removed from the project. Timers do not pay if the task extends beyond the prescribed limit, and workers are encouraged to submit lower times regardless of the actual work required. For some tasks this is an extra 5 minutes, for others it could be an extra 20 hours.
