Pros
1. Company operates in accessibility market so you definitely have that "feel good" factor from day one. Contributing in any way to help people be more independent in their homes 2. Good money (if you negotiate well) and decent work/life balance 3. Plenty of good people around with good enthusiasm
Cons
1. Very old fashioned and lacking clear direction from the top 2. Internal politics very toxic and bureaucracy is leading the decision-making process 3. Dinosaur company culture :( Lack of accountability at the top and Commercial #1 is simply lacking tact. 4. As an example, Commercial #1 could easily book SPA weekend (non-work related) for her and her partner and finance simply have to let it go. 5. Huge expectations after Savaria took over but not much change due to old management still pulling the strings 6. Shockingly poor communication at all levels which is simply the company culture - very silo'ed 7. Finance #1 is a baby boomer with some personal issues. Seems to be calm but can overreact due to his possibly traumatic past experience 8. I still appreciate the experience I gained at Handicare but would rather not waste my time here. 9. ...in addition to all of the above, Handicare clearly have a nepotism problem as so many relatives of senior management get preferential treatment and can shortcut through application process. 10. Don't waste your time here...and You are welcome! :)
