Pros
Their recruiting team is great. If you're looking for a "transferable skills" entry into cybersecurity, they can make it happen. Progression can happen very quickly if you can learn fast, do good work, and step outside your lane to help others on the team. Management acknowledges, appreciates, and rewards high-performing employees. Excellent work-life balance, though return-to-office is spoiling it somewhat. Very humane management, decent pay for junior roles, decent benefits, and lots of opportunities to stand out in a bland industry. They will sponsor your clearance.
Cons
Because of the fiscally-constrained nature of the contracting work they do, GreenXT can have trouble on some teams retaining employees once they graduate from junior to mid-senior level roles. Turnover is somewhat high, though none of it has to do with GreenXT being a bad place to work. The nature of DoD work is that crushing bureaucracy is everywhere. It can take weeks for a point of contact on the military side to answer an inquiry, and you have very little recourse when client personnel just don't care. Depending on the client, disrespect for and mistreatment of contractors is not unheard-of, though GreenXT is doing a good job of protecting its people. Work on-site at the Navy Yard is miserable for some clients. Building 1000 is a monument to human sadness. Walk half a mile from the questionable parking spot you found, report to work, collect your tasks for the day, and hope to find a seat in a closet or under a stairwell from which to hold your video calls. The Navy's return-to-office plan is a mistake.
