“Bad company…” comment correction - Anonymous employee Green Charge Networks Employee Review

Green Charge is a well-known name in the emerging energy storage industry alongside a small handful of other firms. If you've been following energy industry news - especially around renewables/energy storage - chances are you've heard of the name already. There's a lot of buzz about the future of energy storage so GCN is the perfect place to see (and help drive) industry growth going forward. Colleagues are very helpful and everyone seems like they want to be here. Everyone here is very sharp and willing to help learn. The C-suite/exec team is very approachable especially with the open-seating plan. With the recent backing by Engie, the company should be very well-positioned for growth.

Given the acquisition by Engie was quite recent, there are still some kinks to work out (as with any acquisition). The commute can be long for those who live in SF but the company has EVs parked at the caltrain station so it's feasible. The learning curve can be quite steep for those who aren't already following or working in the energy industry.

There are a few extremely talented engineers here and I have learned so much from them. They seem to know a lot and did almost everything while some know nothing and did nothing. This company is great to learn provided that you seek mentorship under the right individuals. It is not hard to find them, just ask around who made what and you will find them. There are some cool technology here and I was very excited to learn about them.

There are a few quirky individuals I have met and personally tried to avoid while working there. One had the habit of cursing, insulting other team members and exhibited very unprofessional behaviors but for some reasons still being kept around. Being a QA intern, I was mocked and insulted about my intelligence by this individual while the HR was sitting 3 desks away and nobody seems to do anything about it. Another one seems to have no clue on how the company technology works despite being the most senior person in the team. He also told me a lot of misinformation that caused me embarrassment when interviewing around when my tenure was over.
