Pros
The pay was rather decent. They also offer a health care plan where the company pays for 75% of it after 3 months....
Cons
.... but good luck making it to 3 months. With my short 6 weeks at this company, the owner fired over 8 different employees, of which some of them were good, hard working employees. You can never tell if the first mistake you make will be your last. The owner spent the last 16 years with the same exact company out in Seattle. Then sold his business to come back to Michigan and, to be honest, I dont know how his business last 16 years out there if he handled things the same way. You never know if today is going to be a good day or a bad day. Even if he comes in chipper, his attitude could change in a heart beat. It might not even be something work related and he will go off on everyone just like that. Bipolar doesnt even begin to describe how quickly his attitude can turn. He has very little, if any, respect towards any of his employees, his contractors, even his customers at times. Hes always cussing people out for things that may not have even been their fault. Theres no talking to him when hes pissed off. You basically have to be ready with the correct answer when he wants to hear it. Otherwise prepare yourself to make that your top priority. He also tends to threaten your job whenever you make an honest mistake. There is zero reasoning with him. If he is upset about something that happened, he will tell at you from across the office and say things like "if that ever happens again, itll be your last day at Green Built Roofing". Its truly astonishing. To top it all off, he recently vaught a security system to keep an eye on the office. Normally I would say that's all well and good. However, he installed a few of those cameras right in the offices of some of the employees and would occasionally pull up the app on his phone to spy/yell at his employees. I was grateful for the opportunity to work here. But I was not pleased at all at how things were run.
