Pros

The customers are truly awesome people. I have learned a lot by working at Goodwill and networking with the clients.

Cons

The management above store level could be described as incompetent at best. They do not have the required qualifications or know how to successfully run and grow this "non profit," as it is classified. Many times over, they will attempt to implement complicated business plans, only to confuse themselves. Whatever you do, do not try to use any of your benefits at goodwill, including tuition reimbursement, it will only serve to frustrate you at the corporate level of "yes our policy is this, but it has not been revised in over 20 years, so we cannot give it to you." Lastly, they preach to the community about how they promote jobs and people returning to work. They also have propaganda displaying the growth potential with the company. However, many of us have attempted to "move up" over the years only to be turned down because our qualifications exceed that of those in corporate who fear for their jobs.
