Great company to work for overall - Intern Marketing Good Wealth Management Employee Review

Good Wealth Management is an incredible place to work in Harrisonburg. I was lucky enough to be their first Marketing Intern and it was a great opportunity for me. It allowed me the chance to put my knowledge into practice and gain experience in a positive environment. The people at GWM are great and not only encourage you professionally, but personally. This position helped me gain experience and I still get professional advice from my mentors there.

If a small office environment isn't want you want then this isn't for you.

In the four years since graduation, I've had two different jobs and honestly I miss the office culture at GWM. In the real world, you don't choose your boss and employers expect you to have skills you don't learn in college. As a new intern at GWM, I struggled a little bit in the beginning but my supervisor never wanted me to resign myself to a “coffee-and-copies” type of intern. He took the time to graciously explain the industry and he gave me many opportunities to learn real stuff, and I even co-managed very important projects. Also, GWM gave me a lot of flexibility to work around school schedules and when I needed additional time to go to the doctor or do homework, my boss was very supportive. Not only did my internship help with real world experience, it also gave me a chance to stand out from the crowd and land a full-time job.

None that I can think off. They paid me to work there :) besides, it's an internship so it's up to you if you will make the most out of it, or not.
