Pros

- I very much loved working with my direct colleagues, everyone was always trying their best and really supported each other - Company is growing fast so people with ideas and solutions are valued high - They collect a lot of data on employee satisfaction - Good benefits - There is room for creativity - Constantly iterating and trying new / better things both internally and externally - They really care about their customers and create a customer-centric culture - The customers are extremely engaged with the brand (a lot of positive engagement) which is rare in B2B - They are constantly asking questions, how to be better, what to do next

Cons

- In my opinion, they still act like a startup with all the typical startup problems, if you don't thrive in ambiguity and at breakneck speed this is not the company for you. - In my opinion, they work too fast without regard for quality, which means someone always has to clean up messes and put out fires that other people create from lack of attention to detail and not doing it right the first time. - In my opinion, they ask for feedback but then don't know how to effectively put solutions in place based on that feedback. - In my opinion, they will work you until you break. It seems that most of the leadership team cares more about the business than employees. - In my opinion, you will never be good enough - they strive for perfection. - In my opinion, if you ask for help with a problem they will accuse you of not owning the solution if you don't have the answer to the problem. - In my opinion, leadership frequently makes extremely inappropriate comments about how they would have done your job better. - In my opinion, managers hire people exactly like themselves, creating clicks. - In my opinion, managers pit employees against each other, creating toxic situations. - In my opinion, leadership does not set employees up for success, lack of correct resources and tools set people up for failure. - In my opinion, they have created a culture of fear where people keep their mouths shut instead of speaking up because they are afraid of being accused of not being team players.

It's clear from your comments that you recognize the positive aspects of our company, such as the supportive colleagues, the focus on creativity, and our customer-centric culture. We are also encouraged by your appreciation for our commitment to constant improvement and innovation. We also acknowledge the challenges that come with our size, rapid growth, and ambitious goals and we are actively working to address our areas of opportunity. Here are just a few things we’re doing to create an even better workplace environment: Consistent employee polling to understand key pain points at a business and team level. Regular town halls where key initiatives and updates are discussed to minimize ambiguity; we also do weekly department wide updates to share updates on critical projects and provide general insights into what our employees are focused on. Consistent office hours with our leaders, available to all employees, so that our employees can ask questions and share concerns. Manager training sessions to help managers understand best practices around supporting employees and setting teams up for success. Thank you again for your candid feedback.

Pros

I've worked at fast growing startups before and GlossGenius is the first place where I am genuinely learning new things. You're given a lot of ownership and ability to build cool things. Leadership is extremely supportive of new ideas and encourages continual evolution. The leadership team is customer obsessed and while sometimes it can be challenging to incorporate different types of customer feedback, it is so rewarding to be able to act on customer requests and get it into the hands of small business owners the same day and actually see the impact you're having. The customers we serve rely on our product for much of their daily lives, so the whole team takes what they do seriously because it is. Senior leadership provides a lot of learning opportunities. Based off of my experience having seen leaders at other companies, senior leadership here is top tier. The other teammates I work with are incredible too as they're all very smart. The team operates heavily with AI. Compensation is competitive for a company at this stage, equity is real given the recent raise and valuation step-up, and the benefits are solid. Career growth is fast if you're good as I've seen people move up two levels in a short period of time because the company is expanding faster than it can promote from outside.

Cons

None really. If you need to be told what to do or need a lot of structure, you might not do well here.

Pros

Real purpose behind the work — you're helping small business owners (stylists, salon owners, estheticians) keep their businesses running day to day, which makes the role genuinely rewarding Career launchpad — CS at a growing SaaS company opens doors to Customer Success, Account Management, Product, and beyond — it's a role with real upward mobility Variety keeps it interesting — no two issues are the same, and your feedback directly influences what gets built next, so your voice actually carries weight Transferable skills — empathy, communication, and problem-solving developed in this role translate across virtually any career path you pursue

Cons

Emotionally demanding — absorbing frustration from stressed small business owners day after day can be draining, especially when solutions aren't quick or easy Limited control — you're often the messenger for product gaps or outages you had no hand in creating, which can feel powerless when customers are upset Repetitive at times — despite the variety, you'll inevitably cycle through the same common issues repeatedly, which can become monotonous over time Growth pace pressure — at a startup, processes and resources are still being built, which can mean navigating ambiguity or high ticket volumes without always having clear answers or enough support
