Pros

- Used to be such a great place to learn and gain experience - Great colleagues although many of the best have moved on - Fast pace and interesting market - Snacks

Cons

- Passionate and inspiring CEO that leaves employees feeling manipulated at the realization that on a personal level, the feeling was never mutual. - Senior employees (maybe all) are treated as disposable and under appreciated. - The new and remaining executives are just cogs in the machine and don't bring the energy, enthusiasm and dedication to winning that only founders can incite. - The new wave of executives - Passionate and inspiring CEO that leaves employees feeling manipulated when there was ultimately little concern about employees on a personal level - Senior employees (maybe all) are treated as disposable and under appreciated. - Disconnect between product development/R&D and the market. - Company has always played catchup and feature wars with other companies rather than innovating and leading the market. Even the best me-too features doesn't guarantee success. - CEO and executive team have always leaned toward educating the market rather than serving it. - Due to lacking market perception and response, ROI has always been hard to find. - Despite hiring some of the best and brightest, god forbid you have any ideas of your own. If you don't march to the flavor-of-the-week strategy which has proven to often be wrong, you will be replaced - In the march towards an acquisition, I saw very capable colleagues replaced by new executives with IPO affiliations/branding on their resumes (read not experience). - Massive salesforce (now downsized) tripping over each other with the most capable of the team leaving en masse or exchanged for re-sellers.

Pros

Gigya is a place where smart, hard working people flourish. Change is constant and we often try new strategies to be successful. That's what a start up is. We have a great culture and have traditionally hired great people. Unfortunately management was pushed to make rapid hires and because of that, some bad seeds joined the pack. (See recent negative reviewers) The people who wrote those reviews were people who did a mediocre job, didn't get promoted 6-8 months into the job and didn't understand that just doing the minimum to get by doesn't mean you get a shiny new promotion. It's sad that people feel the need to lash out on a place that gave them their start in sales, paid them well and taught them skills that would help them in their next career. It's very clear that Gigya wasn't the right place for them, because a true Gigyian would never bash a place that fed them, taught them, celebrated them and paid them well.

Cons

Some may say that "only working from home 1 day a week" and "not enough snacks" is a con. To them I say, cry me a river or move back in with your parents and have them pack you a snack. This is your career, not play time.
