Pros

Depending on what area you work in not a lot of micromanaging.

Cons

Not a lot of hands on guidance or training on most positions and how the university works compared to industry (they are very different). Also career paths are very vague, you could easily be stuck in the same position making the same salary for the next 15 years (many people are).

Pros

- Free Housing - Meal Plan - One of the better on campus job for students in my opinion (still able to be involved in other activities as a student on campus)

Cons

- Duty part of the job (Being on call and getting late night lock outs but this is rare), and definitely can still do homework in between doing duty rounds - experience can also depend on your hall director / area (but regardless still served on great RA teams, can be great if you have a co-ra but also been good at time being a single RA on the floor (no need to coordinate schedule if you do events together as a single RA unless you alternate events with your co)
