Good pay. Benefits much better than most others. Decades of mineral reserves in the ground.
Cons
Extremely toxic and fear oriented culture. Narcissistic leadership at the top with zero leadership ability. Rule by intimidation. They think they are the leader in the industry, but while incompetent and short sighted leaders have been in control the competition is far outpacing them with investments in the future. The good side to that is with that kind of reserves in the ground, they'll eventually end up being sold again hopefully to someone with enough foresight and ability to make a good company out of it. I loved many aspects of my job but unfortunately my mental health just couldn't withstand that kind of toxic environment. Will spend millions on consultants to steal employees ideas and ineffectively try to implement something instead of providing managers and supervisors with resources to just do the job, they know what to do but are not supported with resources to accomplish anything.
