I learned about Reverse Mortgages and gained experience in a field I had never worked in before.

Controlling and calming conversations from upset grown children who did not know until after their parents had died that their parents had taken out a Reverse Mortgage on the home they grew up in. This meant that there was no home to bequeath to the children and grandchildren. In other cases there was very limited information to give to children of grown parents who were incapacitated because no power of attorney had been provided to the children.

Donuts on Fridays. Jeans weeks to raise money for various charities. The company is trying to be more transparent with some major events for the company.

HR turnover has been high. Senior management tends to put way too much faith in mid-level managers they have built personal friendships with, turning a blind eye to conduct which is apparent to the rest of the staff. Some managers can't always separate friendships and work relationships with their staff - fairness is an issue in some departments. Also, it can be difficult for talented employees wishing to explore new opportunities to move into other areas of the company. Some departments don't have a good outlook for advancement. Only some positions qualify for bonuses.
