Pros

Get to work on exciting Frank Gehry projects! Unfortunately, that's about it.

Cons

Poor leadership/management. Has a 'fend for yourself' environment. I'm expected to learn new software on my personnel time and through resources I have to pay for myself. They sell the world to unsuspecting clients but don't have a clear strategy. High turn over. Only a few people in the company (<20 in the LA office) that have been with the company for over 3 years. Compensation is not at all competitive. I can't say that I enjoy it here. We only get the Frank Gehry jobs. No career path or professional development. Lack of organization and coordination between different teams. Clients (especially General contractors) seem to be building their own teams that can do the same if not more than what Gehry Technologies is offering. GT seemed to have a very good reputation 5-10 years back but doesn't appear to be that way now. Will probably be looking elsewhere soon...

Pros

We get to work on highly complex and interesting projects, embedded within the wider group of Gehry Partners or in some cases, within the construction team of Gehry projects, exposed to the life of iconic buildings from beginning to end. Being under the corporate umbrella of Trimble, Inc., employee benefits and general HR are organized without ambiguity. Plenty of resources available. PTO is unlimited on a 'discretionary' basis, which can be hard to navigate at times but is ultimately reasonable.

Cons

I'm unsure of our division's future as we progress through the industry with BIM and VDC management becoming an inherent part of many firms.
