Cons

Metrics will be 99% of whether you fail or succeed in your role at Gartner. Many times your metrics will be outside of your control. It is deeply ingrained within the culture. They are not interested in hearing legitimate reasons why you are unable to meet your metrics. Bombarding your clients with many emails or cold calling them to click on documents when they have asked you to take a pause is encouraged if it leads to you hitting your metrics. If you are considering a client manager role consider how absolutely serious you must be about hitting your targets above all other things. Despite the importance to note your client's activity in the system, if management views the way in which you enter activity in the system improper, they will work to have you removed from the company.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
