A Toxic, Dead-End Role with Constantly Shifting KPIs and Zero Leadership Awareness - Conference Sales Executive Gartner Employee Review

Pros

There are no meaningful pros. Some colleagues are friendly but that is the only positive.

Cons

Culture, constantly shifting KPI's, unrealistic expectations, and leadership that avoids accountability. Management creates unrealistic salary expectations during the interview process and exagerates earning potential, not even 10% reach OTE. The role is really a junior SDR role, leadership is disconnected from day to day challenges and focus on outbound activities to protect themselves. You are constantly pushed and taught new methods to contact and pressure clients execessively to compensate from the declining business model of Conferences. Constant demands to do more work each week for less, extremely high staff turnover (except management) and absolutely no career progression.

Pros

Being a globally recognized company makes it easy to consistently engage clients. Great benefits. Amazing people (managers and colleagues) For the most part there is a clear path to success and promotions. Executives listen to feedback after every internal call to help guide strategy.

Cons

In office mandate increasing in office days from once a month to once a week. Need to live in Florida or Texas because of the in office mandate. Promotions take a while since there are many people going for the same roles. Hard to reach clients and constant territory’s shifting makes it difficult to achieve the numbers you and management expect.
