Good educational opportunities, but lacking in pay and benefits. - CNC Machinist Garner Industries Employee Review

Pros

Machinists are given the ability to learn multiple machine set-ups, create and improve processes, and work with demanding super-alloys. Very educational. Management encourages growth and development. Dental insurance 100% paid.

Cons

50 to 60 hour weeks (for machinists). No sick leave. Sometimes difficult to get vacations approved. Health insurance is $2500/$5000 deductible (single/family). Raises have typically been below "cost of living." Highly unorganized, limited tooling, we just "make it work."

Pros

Great people to work with, very friendly and helpful people I've ever worked with. Good work experience for a new machinist getting out of college.

Cons

I gave this company 1 star because of the people I worked were amazing, otherwise it would have been no stars. Cons are terrible pay for the amount of skill required, management is very unorganized and makes bad decision after bad decision. They will train you on the promise of a raise and then they will act like they have no money for a raise. There is no future with this company, get your experience and get out or don't work there at all.
