Pros

Some great managers Remote - Work from Home

Cons

-Company boasts inclusivity; good luck if you have any kind disability that requires a special accommodation (I've been waiting 3 years for my ergonomic keyboard, mouse, and chair) -HR: most of them are rude, short tempered, and will try to get you fired if you point out that they screwed something up -Salaries being well below industry average (unless position is for higher leadership) -Very few departments have growth opportunities -Tend to treat their hourly employees as if they are expendable -Will offer a $4000 bonus for new hire referral but won't give yearly increases -HR can screw up your paycheck and then will say you have to wait for next pay cycle for a new check -Benefits suck - Home Office employees do not get sick days (Rolling Meadows, IL); you are expected to use your vacation time/optional days if you are sick -Standard is 10 vacation days/year until you hit 5 years; then you get bumped up to 15. Max out at 20 days a year after 15 years of service -Many HR policies state "at manager's discretion", but HR will decide that disciplinary action is needed without discussion with manager -Every department is understaffed and over worked -Most departments have a very high turnover rate -Insurance benefits are not all that great - most expensive plan is still high deductible -Can't seem to understand why very few individuals are accepting job offers at this time (Hello!! the competitors are paying almost double with better benefits for the same work) -HR policies may say they apply to everyone, but they really only apply to hourly employees. If you're salaried, you can get away with murder and still keep your job. And some of my favorites: -a manager from another department can shut down your transfer to a new position because "you are too valuable in your current role" -NO transparency on pay structures; they will pay you what they can get away with and not a penny more -You could be groomed for 2 years to move into a position for when an employee retires, and then be told that you weren't qualified (and end up having to train the person who got the role because they don't know anything) -Hiring process can take MONTHS just to receive an offer letter -The whole company runs on NEPOTISM -Work-life balance is non-existent for certain positions (been in the hospital and still expected to call into a meeting or send out an email) (does depend on manager and department)

Pros

Great work-life balance as a remote employee. Management is approachable and genuinely willing to help when it comes to workload — you never feel like you're on your own.

Cons

Mentorship is largely self-driven. if you don't seek it out yourself, it won't come to you. Systems and internal processes can be slow and tedious, which adds friction to an already fast-paced workload. Compensation does not reflect the complexity or volume of work expected. High performers who are ready for the next step would benefit from clearer, more proactive promotion paths. When that structure is missing, talented people disengage quietly long before they ever leave.
