Pros
Same rules for everyone. They brought in a supervisor in September who is excellent. Stays positive, works very hard and listens. Other people on the job are very willing to teach, encouraging. Atmosphere is friendly- I haven't seen any feuds. Filed a sexual harassment complaint on my first day (I heard a kid who works there joke innapropriately to one of the female workers) and they took it very seriously, went by the book. This is the only instance of any trouble like that I've heard in 2 weeks there. First company I've worked for where they don't encourage you to cut corners. Everyone in the same boat- forklift drivers hopping down to help with packaging, plant manager regularly on the floor, knows the procedures from the ground up. No screaming, no namecalling. One supervisor spoke to me a little abruptly in a stressful moment, and then apologized! Just been there 2 weeks, but I've never seen anything like it. HR manager is around regularly, very accessible.
This review is for the cutting room at Sugar Creek. I can't speak for the rest of the plant.
Cons
Very loud, very fast-paced, monotonous work, lots of lifting. Just the nature of the job. Not for everybody. Shift is 5am-3:30pm. Normally 4 days per week, but some Saturday work.
