Many members of our team regularly share how happy they are to be a part of GP Flooring Solutions. We have a once-a-week 20-minute team huddle when we stand in a circle — and first we go around and each share personal and professional good news, before we do company updates. Then anyone who has a shout-out to share about an awesome colleague gives that appreciation. At huddle yesterday nearly everyone’s personal good news was how much fun they and their spouses had at our holiday party and how good it feels to be a part of a fun and caring team. We do have a couple former employees who did not fit into our team culture, which is all about doing the right thing, working hard, and having fun. At our weekly huddles and monthly all-team meetings, there are four or five different people who speak to the entire group with updates (beyond everyone sharing their own news). At all-team meetings, at least half of the time is spent in break-out groups so that teams are working together and sharing their thoughts and ideas with each other and then reporting out to the entire team. When someone joins our team, they sign a standard document that are typical to any business. We strive to continually grow and improve, and I meet with each and every person on the team individually on a regular basis to get their ideas about how we can be better.
