Pros

It is fascinating to peel back the layers of a company putting forth such a shiny, sparkling facade. I enjoy how this role is helping me to understand the deep, ugly depths of capitalism at its finest. This has given me the fortitude and gumption to one day create my own company in which I put people first and don't pretend to just do that. This role has also given me access to some brilliant people--the hardworking employees below the execs who are putting everything into what they do. It has also given me access to people (the "leaders") whom I never want to be like. What life lessons I am learning.

Cons

The dark dredges of capitalism at its finest. There is no growth here. No recognition. Stealing of others' ideas. A mean, exclusive mean girls vibe. A select few (a very odd select few) who run the show, call themselves leaders but do not inspire or lead in any way. (They may be fooling customers, readers, and listeners, but they are not fooling many employees.) This is a toxic, cruel, controlling, fake place to work.
