Pros
-Meritocractic in my experience -Amazing co-workers (although bonds are often created because of the stress and change we've all been put through) -Unique learning opportunties via the experts we work with
Cons
I've defended this place for so long, but GLG cannot seem to get out of its own way. A few thoughts: 1. Get rid of failing leaders. We've seen some of these guys (mostly) make mistake after mistake--or just do nothing--and their teams end of taking the fall for them when it comes time for reorganization or bonuses. 2. Make change for the long-haul. We've constantly tried to reinvent ourselves, each time letting the pendulum swing too far in one direction or another. It's affected morale and it's affected client perception of us. 3. Take culture seriously. It cannot be an afterthought. As leadership, if you delegate creating culture, you are shirking a core responsibility and no amount of 3 pm snacks that run out in 5 minutes will change that. The young workforce needs visible leaders that can motivate them, and they can tell when it's just talk.
