Pros
Benefits and amazing and the annual holiday party is simply amazing. Pay is ok. Has a strong culture that apparently is geared in favor of the "assets that go up and down the elevator each day". The location is great as well. Really nice office space, except if you work in IT.
Cons
Sometimes there are long stressful hours. There is really no room for growth unless you come in at a higher position, above analyst or associate. There really isn't much diversity at the firm. Kind of sad that they typically choose people from Highland Park, where many of the managing directors are from. This also means that there is no loyalty with the firm unless you are "in good" with the management team. In addition, some of the managers I had did NOT have solid people skills. It kind of amazes me how such a person can efficiently manage a team. Unless the firm is doing well, your annual bonus will either be flat or below what it was the previous year, which negatively impacts employee morale. The interesting thing is that upper management bonuses don't seem to be flat, go figure though, right?
