Pros

Ability to build soft and hard skills in the next generation, time off aligns to nurture your own children

Cons

Pressure to pass students who are not qualified; pressure to graduate students who are not qualified; multiple responsibilities that have been shifted to teachers from more appropriate roles (counseling, secretaries) at the expense of teaching; unresponsive management; fraud to conceal absences by marking as "present remote" to maintain CCRPI ratings; poor behaviors repeatedly ignored by administration, again to maintain high CCRPI ratings; no consequences for skipping or tardiness; indefensible global policies in grading conceived by bloated central office workers mean 12th grade college-level classes have same percentage weights for practice, minor assessments, and major assessments as 7th grade physical education; teachers' salaries 10-15k lower than neighboring districts (Cobb, Forsyth, APS) mean that schools are bleeding teachers but their positions are not being replaced, leading to larger class sizes and a greater workload for those who are left

Pros

You get a wide variety of schools to work with.

Cons

South Fulton and Alpharetta are really far away from the city center, and there can be a lot of favoritism in those areas. Paraprofessional pay is very low, and that can sometimes be the only thing that is available on Aesop. You may barely have a break to take your lunch - 30 mins or so.
