Unacceptable pay and poor training - Flight Attendant Frontier Airlines Employee Review

Pros

You get to meet nice people.

Cons

The pay is frankly unacceptable a starting FA is taking home paychecks of around $600, which is barely livable given the demands of the job. The benefits are outrageously expensive, making an already low paycheck feel even worse. There’s absolutely no sense of pride or support from the company, and morale is extremely low. The training process feels less like professional development and more like hazing. Instructors are openly disrespectful, intimidating, and treat trainees terribly instead of preparing them to succeed. For the level of responsibility and stress involved, the compensation and treatment are completely out of touch. To put it into perspective, a starting employee at McDonald’s can make more money while dealing with far less pressure and hostility.

Pros

Mainline carrier. Much smaller than the big 3 legacy carriers, so gaining seniority is much quicker. Good “starter” airline, rather than starting at a regional.

Cons

Frontier is owned by an investment company, which is completely out of touch with the frontline. The company in recent years, concocted a “Culture of Caring” catchphrase they constantly use - when everything about their culture, in reality, demonstrates the complete opposite. They shifted their business model to out/back to save themselves money, on the backs of FA’s, resulting in significantly decreased pay and essentially changed it to a day job - without the day job pay for every hour on the clock.
