Pros

Work from home, high pay, flexible schedule

Cons

The job I was described during interview was not what I got, highly disorganized, expected to work late due to meetings being scheduled for 5 or 6 pm. Felt very much like an India scam company.

Pros

I have been a part of the Focus EduVation team for nearly two years and joining the organization is undoubtedly among the best decisions I’ve ever made. This is a truly supportive and collaborative environment; each person has an opportunity to have his or her voice heard, enabling a chance to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the projects at hand. There is no hierarchy – yes, we all have titles, but each person is accessible and willing to help in whatever capacity is required. It is the true definition of a team. And because we all bring varying experiences working in a wide variety of areas, it lends to solid collaboration and discussion of ideas. But as collaborative an environment as this is, we are all also empowered to do our jobs free of any obstacles. I think if there is an ideal work environment, Focus EduVation is very near the top. Working in a business that values higher education and being able to work closely with institutions of higher learning on a daily basis represents the best of both worlds in my career – I came from higher ed, but I am also learning a lot as a leader in the corporate environment.

Cons

I honestly can't think of any downside of working for this organization. Perhaps it's my 50-mile commute, but the fact I look forward to showing up each day after driving that distance should speak volumes about the environment.

Pros

NONE, NOTHING, NIL, EMPTY SET!

Cons

OMG, where to start? I worked on two different contracts with this company. I was barely trained and often lost work because so much information was never shared with me. I completed the first contract on a tight deadline as they stated they were in a hurry. I had to chase them around for a month to get them to review the work, which was approved. I was NEVER paid because they decided to change the contract after the fact. I cannot get them to pay me for this contract and have contacted the Attorney General's office. I completed the second contract per the new specs, it again took forever to get it reviewed, and again I had to chase them around to get paid. They published and used my work before they bothered to pay me. At one point, their excuse was that the CEO was in India and unreachable. It's 2017 so that excuse is moronic! They do not know or understand the common core standards and I was constantly researching and informing them. I performed many tasks outside the contract. Their authoring tool is crappy and miserable to work with, especially for editing. Recently, I was harassed by one of the management team members and told I had to call them when I specifically stated I was unavailable. They cannot distinguish between a contractor and an employee. DO NOT WORK for them in any capacity. This company is awful and appears to be cash poor.
