Pros

Ability to travel and build great relationships with dealers and auction partners.

Cons

You never get a bonus. The bottom line from which you are paid is always fluctuating. Corporate expenses always were higher than expected and no breakdown was ever given. Absolutely no transparency. A certain department would fly in, ride around in luxury SUV's, and eat lavish meals while we were told that we could not buy soda or snacks for the office.

Thank you for your review. There is an excellent opportunity for people who are driven, self-motivated and business savvy to effectively manage their own branch office. We offer generous and competitive salaries and some of the best benefits in the industry; including a matching 401k. In addition, General Managers are paid a bonus on the bottom line profits of their branch, which they manage. If there are little or no bottom line profits then obviously little or no bonus is available. P&L's are given monthly with a complete breakdown of revenue and itemized expenses which the branch incurred. Corporate expenses are the at the lowest levels in recent years due to offsetting income being generated at the corporate level. A successful branch is a result of strong sales and marketing... growth. Once a branch is successful in marketing then expenses fall in line.

Pros

It’s a great environment. From my first day on the job I felt valued and appreciated. Everyone from HR to Regional Managers, up to the Director of Operations are always willing to answer questions. They put a lot of effort into making where we work a fun place to be. The benefits and time off are good with flexibility on when you’re able to take it. It’s not always an easy job, it’s constantly moving and always changing but it’s a fun place to be with people who want to see you succeed.

Cons

I can’t say I can personally think of anything.

Pros

If you’re dealing with a toxic workplace but still have to engage with customers professionally, the key is separating the customer interaction from the internal chaos around you

Cons

—constant criticism, yelling, favoritism, disorganization, and feeling singled out—can create a genuinely toxic work environment. Even when a workplace is chaotic overall, being repeatedly targeted by a manager can wear down your confidence and make every day feel tense.
