Pros
- Free food - Competitive pay and benefits - Company has an ambitious and worthy mission There is opportunity to learn and work on interesting projects - if you fall in line / are preferred by the people in charge
Cons
- Extreme cases of nepotism. Some finance leaders prefer to hire people that are more or less versions of themselves - white, male, ex-Amazon and plays golf. Easy enough to trace recent hires and find them having at least 3 out of 4 of these characteristics. - Despicable manner in which former employees are spoken about at team meetings. Essentially saying "good riddance" to anyone who departs and use their vacancy to hire more ex-Amazon people. - So much turnover - with over 60% people leaving Flexport within one year of joining. A statistic that was actually announced at an All-Hands, but nothing done to address the "why". - Inclusion is a joke. Not a concept grasped nor cared about in teams. This has been affecting morale and productivity. - Projects are not being committed to. Things start but don't go anywhere as upper management changes their mind.
