Young team and offered better stipend at the time than average

Cons

Extremely toxic work environment where one of the co-founder feels it is completely fine to shout at employees and abuse them (even at senior experienced people in front of everyone), please avoid unless you are okay with such behaviour

CEO: - Not open to feedback - Behave childish and passive aggressive if you callout his bias with logical reason - Be spiteful about employees and ex-employees sitting on his desk in the middle of the day - His social media DOESN'T reflect his thoughts, it was a ghostwriter - Focus on the flirting than a business Other founders: - Screaming at employees after setting unrealistic goals - Again, social media DOESN'T reflect their thoughts, it was the same ghostwriter Work Culture: - Hiring role titles are misleading. It changes to whatever gets more application. Actual work is like call centre, sit at the desk and call engineers all day. - Very high attrition rate. Almost all the employees are less than 6 months old. - Asked employees to find new job in appraisal discussions - Refused to pay the salary of an employee because they resigned while probation period was going on - Tried to force 3 employees to leave in one month even after contract clearly had term for 2 month notice - After shutting down Buildd, they announced no layoffs and 2 months later they had the mass layoffs. Business: - Sinking - Their "Bootstrapped till $3 revenue" is a lie. It's total transaction amount and NOT revenue. - Shut down their product Buildd and laid off almost all the employees 2 months after declaring no layoffs. - No clarity on the vision and where business is going. You always get vague answers. Founders on paper are academic stars but in reality very toxic. But still if you are wondering how to become their favourite employee? Obey orders without using your brain :)
