Pros

- Great team of dedicated professionals who are fun to work with! - You’re not a cog in the wheel. It’s a small agency that likes collaboration, so everyone has the ability to contribute and make an impact on the work, even if it’s not something you’re directly responsible for. - Amazing creative work for an extremely fun roster of clients. - Flat org structure means your empowered to make decisions and recommendations to help make agency/work better

Cons

- You definitely have to be a self-starter and willing to jump in to projects. Team is too small to have handholding. - Typical of many agencies, turnaround times on projects can be fast. - With small companies you have to be your own advocate and comfortable raising your hand and asking questions since there isn’t a dedicated “people ops” for onboarding

Pros

When I came to work in the mornings, my smile would continuously grow, knowing I was coming to work with my good friends, who were all sensational people. The owner is incredibly generous. If you drove in early on a snow day, he'd leave a crisp hundy on your desk. If you liked ham from Costco because it had lower added water, he'd send someone to get it. There were always treats, excellent team-building events, and a stocked fridge. The client roster was heavy ski/snowboard/wintersports, which was like dream work for an outdoors lover. There were opportunities for personal and professional growth, coaching, and mentoring. I felt that ownership trusted my decisions and judgment, which gave me great latitude in developing the digital department. They prioritize digital and have solid strategies built around it going back to when I helped start the department. Their work continues to be cutting-edge and effective. Generous PTO policy, outstanding salary, and flexible work schedules!

Cons

The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. Watch your valuables in the neighborhood. I had a car window smashed, and a bike was stolen. The office space is nice, but the open desk floor plan can be challenging to focus on work.

Pros

Very small agency so you get to know everyone.

Cons

Management does not have a clue on how to run a business. 4 months after I started more than 1/3 of the staff was let go. By month 6 the agency was down to 1/2 the employees as when I started. This was not during a recession but during a strong and growing economy. While digging through files to find the previous year's client holiday gift list to coordinate that year's client gifts, I came across an agency holiday card from 2 year's previous and only 5 staff names printed on the card were still at the agency. High turn over was due to continuous fluctuations of winning clients and then subsequently losing them and employees leaving due to frustration. Staff roster was greatly inflated on the website with photos and bios of people who worked at a different agency on the same floor. One was on retainer for 5 hours per week and another was occasionally asked to do a media buy, a few were part-time or interns. There are 2 account managers, one was awesome, had a great work ethic and a solid list of clients. The other, came in late and left early, was often hanging out on the couch playing with the office dogs and undercut/undermined fellow employees.
