A delusional company with gross leadership - Senior Engineer Firstup Employee Review

Pros

If you thrive in chaos, maybe this place is for you.

Cons

Poor leadership with high turnover has left a toxic pool of old guard and a new leadership team that is salivating to point fingers, find scapegoats, and declare success with AI. There is no big picture thinking and the constant chaos is paired with micromanagement and lengthy, custom processes that are not industry standard. The below market salary is matched with weak benefits that keep changing to save the company money. Their glassdoor score has jumped from 2.3 to 3.0 in the last couple of months after the CEO declared it a strategic goal to get the glass score up to 3.0. The recent 5 star, no complaint reviews are new hires at the C-Suite and Management layer here being "yes men" to the CEO. A quick read through reviews and you can form your own opinion, was more than half the company unable to do their job or is the newly hired leadership team hiring their own and replacing everyone with loyal sycophants.

Executive Leadership, Company Culture, Excellent Products, Good People, Communication is steller

It's a smaller outfit but growing. As long as you are willing to put in the work you have an opportunity to go far.

Pros

I'm still new here, one month in. But I've had an outstanding experience so far. I sell a forward thinking product that solves real problems for organizations looking to communicate more effectively with their workforce. The leadership from the CEO on down seems genuinely interested in my success, the success of the overall team, and the customers using or considering using Firstup products.

Cons

I was initially hesitant to join this company because the Glassdoor reviews here were horrendous. Before I accepted the offer, I had a heart to heart with the hiring manager, CRO, and an account executive. And I'm so glad I did. They didn't make excuses about the low ratings. They explained how a year ago this company had some toxic leadership and people left. Since then, new leadership has taken over, and even though I didn't experience the "toxic days", I can tell things here are quite different. Just goes to show how critical leadership is to a company's culture and overall success. I don't regret joining Firstup at all.
