Pros
Lots of employees with shared experiences and common interests. I've met some great people at the company and am still friends with many. Also, the expectations for my job were fairly low, so work life balance was good in that sense.
Cons
The CEO is restructuring and laying off employees. Due to the layoffs, employee morale appears low among those I've kept in touch with. There was no announcement as to why, so can only assume it's to reduce cost and increase profitability and stock price. It's a big company and I witnessed corporate politics and "left arm doesn't know what the right arm is doing" frequently. Doing a good job can be secondary to who you know, in my experience. Also, leadership makes decisions that seem disconnected from the challenges employees were facing, based on what I observed. Leaders who I would joke around with and go to lunch with regularly suddenly turn their back and pretend they never knew you when David initiates a layoff in your department. They're always hiring, which could raise some questions about employee turnover. Last, my salary was approx. 20% lower than what I'm seeing in the job market currently.
