Pros
Descent as an entry level IT job with entry level benefits
Cons
The rise in this score has literally been a joke in the office, it’s the reason I’m posting. The IT department reads books like change the culture change the game but implements nothing the culture does not even slowly change. It can’t and won’t change till there is a upper management change. You can’t dismiss all of those reviews about IT and HR without seeing a partner. ITs major push is to press out projects that are half backed at best just in an attempt to make deadlines. There is an insane blame game and it’s not my fault/job description. There have been tons of defections in our department lately and there are crazy rumors and “secret projects” which cause more fires about us being bought out. HR does not value its employees, they do not listen. Period. Stop. In my time with the company they talk about how they listen but they have implemented one change in years, a work from home policy which they have made very difficult to achieve and there is a neg view if you try to take advantage of it. The only other thing they hang their hat on is vacation which they upped years ago, it’s not competitive with other IT shops in Austin nor are their benefits. I haven’t even touched on the facilities, there is budget room for an executive patio but not for stall doors to close fully, toilet seats that are falling off, elevators that work consistently, chairs that don’t sink or computers and monitors that aren’t 7-8 years old. Do your homework, maybe, maybe your benefits are worse, but you can’t change blame culture and you can’t make up all the negative reviews, where there is smoke there is fire. Please do your homework, I had to take this, I needed a job, I’d give it a hard pass had I known and listened.
